Why do I need ActiveOutlook when I can use Salesforce.com Outlook Edition?

Salesforce.com Outlook Edition and ActiveOutlook are 2 very different products serving different purposes.

Salesforce.com Outlook Edition allows you to capture incoming emails into Outlook, synchronize your address book and calendar with Salesforce.com and allows you to lookup your Salesforce.com contacts and leads for outgoing messages.

On the other hand, with one click, ActiveOutlook allows you to quickly see the contact details, case details and opportunity details of the person who just sent you an email.

Even though both the products integrate with Outlook, they both serve different needs!

 

How much does ActiveOutlook cost?

ActiveOutlook is available as a FREE download - i.e. no charge to use it.

 

Does ActiveOutlook change/modify/delete data in my Salesforce.com account?

No, ActiveOutlook only reads data from your Salesforce.com account. ActiveOutlook does NOT make any changes to your Salesforce.com account.

 

Does ActiveOutlook work with Outlook Express?

No, Outlook Express is not supported. Currently ActiveOutlook works only with Microsoft Outlook.
